The Radical Arm is our main remote arm system for dynamic tracking shots, combining a versatile 4.3 metre arm with powerful camera car platforms including the Mercedes ML55 and Polaris RZR. It is built for car commercials, action work and precision camera movement in demanding environments.

The Camera Chase Boat extends our camera car and tracking capabilities to water, giving productions stable, controlled movement for high-speed marine sequences. It is well suited to boat chases, action work, commercials and other shoots that need precise camera movement in demanding conditions.

Black Arm

The Black Arm is a vehicle-mounted dampening system for gimbals, designed to absorb vertical shocks and reduce X/Y movement during tracking shots. It is ideal for camera cars and other moving platforms where rough roads, uneven terrain or speed would otherwise compromise image stability.

What is the maximum tracking speed of the Radical Arm system?
Our Radical Arm system is built for high-speed tracking work and can operate at speeds up to 120 km/h, depending on road conditions, vehicle setup and the shot itself. For demanding high-speed work, we typically pair it with the Titan LT for maximum stability.
Can your camera car systems be used on water or off-road?
Yes. We offer a dedicated chase boat setup for marine tracking and can rig the Radical Arm on platforms such as the Polaris RZR for off-road or snow work. This allows us to deliver stable tracking shots across roads, rough terrain and water.
Is the camera car set up for multi-person monitoring on set?
Yes. Our Mercedes ML55 camera car is outfitted for production, with high-brightness monitors for the driver, crane operator and gimbal operator, plus space for the Director or DP to monitor the live image on set.
How quickly can the Radical Arm be moved between different vehicles?
Using our 2” Speed Rail mounting system, we can move the Radical Arm from the Mercedes ML55 to a chase boat or a Polaris RZR in roughly 1 to 2 hours, depending on the rigging complexity and how much pre-rigging can be done in advance.
Can your camera car systems operate in rain or wet road conditions?
Yes. The Radical Arm and Titan LT are IP65 rated, allowing us to continue shooting in rain or heavy road spray when conditions permit. We can also supply a rain deflector to help keep the lens clear, although the camera package itself still needs appropriate weather protection.
Do you provide camera cars for international productions filming in Norway?
Yes. We regularly support international feature films, TV series and commercial productions filming in Norway. Motion Air works as a local technical partner, providing camera cars, tracking systems, logistics and experienced crew for demanding vehicle work.
