Aerials at Oscarsborg Fortress
We worked with Fenomen Studios to capture the scale of the Oscarsborg military base for the feature film Blücher. The production needed big, wide shots to show the layout of the fortress, which meant we had max our possible fligt time for the Alta X.
To get these shots, we used the Freefly Alta X and Movi Pro gimbal. By keeping our camera and lens setup as light as possible, we were able to get much longer flight times out of each battery set. This gave us the endurance to nail the wide establishing shots the director needed without having to land for battery swaps every few minutes.
To give the editors more options in post-production, we also used the DJI Inspire 3 to grab extra angles and different perspectives while the main unit moved between setups.
Steadicam
In addition to the drone work, we provided a Steadicam operator for the whole movie. Handling both the aerials and the specialized ground shots helped keep the movement and "look" of the film consistent, whether we were shooting high above the fortress or moving through the military buildings on foot.
