Aerial Cinematography in Arctic Conditions

We partnered with Film in Norway and Volvo to capture high-end commercial content for the XC60 Winter Wheels and Accessories campaign. Our primary objective was to deliver cinema-grade aerials that matched the main unit's aesthetic perfectly. To achieve this, we deployed the ARRI Alexa 35 mounted on a Freefly Movi Pro gimbal and the Freefly Alta X heavy-lift drone.

Even in the challenging winter conditions of Valdresflye, the system remained stable, allowing us to capture the car's performance on snow-covered roads without any technical downtime. The Alexa 35’s dynamic range was essential for managing the high-contrast environment of bright snow and dark vehicle details.

Second Unit Efficiency and Still Photography

Operating as a mobile Second Unit, we prioritized speed and flexibility to maximize the short daylight hours. We utilized the DJI Inspire 3 specifically for capturing high-resolution still photography and additional plates.

Because we were able to rig and de-rig quickly directly from our support vehicle, our team could scout and shoot multiple locations across the region in a single day. This allowed us to stay ahead of the production schedule, meeting up with the main unit for key sequences while independently securing a large library of assets for Volvo’s marketing materials.
