We joined the production for Kygo’s latest album to help capture a multi-cam music session at the iconic Trolltunga (The Troll’s Tongue). To maintain the highest image quality for the performance, we delivered two ARRI Alexa 35 cameras, providing the production with the dynamic range needed for the high-contrast mountain environment.
Multicam Performance at Trolltunga
Filming a live session at such a remote and famous location required a reliable, high-end equipment package. One of the ARRI Alexa 35 bodies was mounted on a static crane to provide smooth, elevated movement over the edge of the cliff, while the second unit captured complementary angles on the ground. To round out the coverage, we used the DJI Inspire 3 for cinematic aerials, highlighting the massive scale of the landscape surrounding the stage.
Remote Logistics
Working at Trolltunga meant we had to be highly efficient with our kit. The combination of the static crane and the Inspire 3 gave the director a wide range of options—from stable, sweeping crane shots to massive wide-angle aerials—without needing an oversized crew on the mountain. Everything was rigged to handle the duration of the multicam session, ensuring we captured the full performance as the light shifted across the valley.
